Re: Map editor

If I had to guess, a map editor would be a huge undertaking for the dev team, practically like building a new game from the start. If an editor does show up, it'll definitely come after launch, and probably quite a while after. Unless GRIP gets viral success, I doubt this will happen because I'd thi...

Re: Regarding Nebula Racing League

I'm taking up the torch of NRL's GRIP championships. We'll finish out NRL Season 3, then start a new season as GTC, or "GRIP Transworld Championship" in January. More info on the GRIP official discord.

Re: Initial Feedback on Charged Weapons

Very well put, Mostly. I agree with everything that he's said. The charging mechanic in general is a cool idea, and I really like the idea of having different variants of the same weapon, but I think I fundamentally disagree with the concept of charged weapons being objectively better, or objectivel...

Re: Rogue and Warlander engine sounds

I absolutely love the sound of the Rogue. The only car's sound that bugs me is the Tempest. The bass in her voice steamrolls all the music, but aside from that it's great. The truly unique sound every car is a subtle, but supremely great touch to the game's feel. So far the engine sounds even reflec...

Re: tone down the field of view for "mask camera"

I'm VERY happy that we have an option to adjust FOV effects, but I would really love to see a true "static" FOV option. High FOV values negatively effect a driver's ability to naturally perceive depth and distances. See this video for an explanation/demonstration https://www.youtube.com/wa...

Re: Tank class: 3 pickup slots °.°

I think the cars have identity already. Balancing of vehicle handling is still in a pretty early state, and I think the way they "feel" along with their visual identity will be all they need. GRIP strives to be a fairly competitive racing game, which means balance is very important. Giving...

Re: [LISTED] Time Trial + Leaderboards

I'd really like to see two classes of time trial in GRIP; One with pickups on and one with them off except that you'd get 2 turbos per lap. Currently time trial lacks finesse and feels more re like a daredevil competition (who can chase after the most pickups and burn turbos suicidally the best!?) 2...

Re: The EMP

I'm really mixed about the EMP and I find myself agreeing a little with everyone above. The EMP definitely tightens the pack, and that's useful from a balance perspective, but it's really annoying It can be utterly crippling to a minor inconvenience. Slowdown right before a sharp turn when you neede...

[MP] Arena tracks with indestructible cars

Summary of the bug : I just had the Liddo5 arena come up with destructibility turned off, resulting in a pointless romp that is, apparently still going on. Since there's 1 player romping around with AI still, the race isn't ending and anytime you try to join a race, that's the first one to come up, ...

Re: Yeah, Yeah... I know. Me complaining again...

It happens mid-air. Yaw rotation is like "SCREW YOU WROB3L IM GONNA TURN YOUR CAR TO THE RIGHT/LEFT" when im trying to make a roll. Weirdly enough it only happens on i think 2 maps. One of which is Yuri Industries, confirmed info. That's odd. I've never experienced a change in yaw while a...

Re: GRIP Private Multiplayer testing is now underway!!

We put a mandatory countdown to end the race to stop afk'ers or people messing around from ruining the race and making it last forever. Afraid it's gotta stay, for now at least I actually didn't consider that. Good point, and good thinking. I tend to forget that people can be asshats and ruin thing...

Re: GRIP Private Multiplayer testing is now underway!!

First of all THANK YOU for inviting us to the private MP testing build! I've played a couple hours of MP and I'm VERY impressed with how smoothly everything went. For a such an early implementation, I'm amazed at how well it plays. Racing against actual players cranks the intensity of the experience...

Re: More inertia based visuals cues

I think the speed in Grip is fine. Honestly the game "feels" faster than many other games "look", because we have to deal with actual, punishing physics. Loosing control of the car because of excessive speed is actually a thing in Grip, where it isn't in other games. Driving on t...

Re: GRIP Update v.1.1.0 is now on Steam!

I'm a big simulation fan but I still don't think Grip needs to have variable stats for tire choice because of the unnecessary complexity it would add to game balance. CE has enough on their list of things to do just to get Grip in a feature-complete state, we don't need to burden the game with compl...

Absolutely loving this update! *The menu looks seriously professional! -I would love to see a shortcut to the garage in the event setup menu so we can change our car while we choose the track/event. *The HUD improvements are spot on. *Thanks for adding more options in the pause menu! *The garage is ...

[Visuals] Condensation and Shock/Vapor Cones

I'd love to see subtle condensation effects around the wheels of the cars, and even a shock cone effect at transonic speeds. When the Norvos track was added, the snow/dust cloud effect around the wheels sometimes looks just like the effect I'm talking about. Keep it subtle, but noticeable and I thin...

Re: How fast, in terms of top speed, will GRIP cars go?

Given the air pressure on Norvos, Jahtra, etc. are 1 atm, we would probably start seeing transonic effects at speeds lower than supersonic. certain areas around the car would be moving supersonically before the car itself is so the body of the car would start getting buffetted by shockwaves at aroun...

Re: Tank treads

Tank treads would really mess with my suspension of disbelief because it makes utterly no sense for the kind of racing in GRIP. Advantage of wheels: -Lightweight -High maneuverability -High speed -Simplicity (Easy to repair and maintain) Disadvantages of wheels: -Low traction -High ground impact (Di...

GRIP, we've spent over 75 hours together now, and I think our relationship has evolved to the mixtape level.

Re: Moar Violence plz!

Violence is pretty implicit in the fact that the car is being torn apart at 300 mph. I'd like to see more remnant debris from destroyed cars, but gore is really unnecessary. There wouldn't be much left of a human body to see after a wreck of these extremes, so it's not only unnecessary, but also sil...
