Re: I do not enjoy anymore

Shouldn't "am" be used only in connotation to yourself? Unless this is a part of some older English which isn't really taught and seen anywhere nowadays. In any case, I'm always happy to learn something new about English. You're perfectly correct to say am is normally used in connection w...

Re: I do not enjoy anymore

That Epic has our back and are very impressed with what we've achieved with their engine must say something here. The inner grammar nazi inside me awoken. I feel that this is what you meant, right? I think are instead of am may be more commonly used, but both are correct in this particular case. I ...

Re: I do not enjoy anymore

I think it would be better if people (at least me :D) would be more informed what exactly is causing the problem. And saying that "it is a PhysiX issue" is not really a satisfying answer. I find things like this less annoying if i know when i know the reason why they occur Under what cond...

Re: I do not enjoy anymore

To remove any doubt, the physics isn't finished and is not meant to be representative of final product - so take heart that we will take it as far as we possibly can. Most of the physics problems we have are related to collision response which is certainly the domain of PhysX, and very tricky to get...

Re: I do not enjoy anymore

Hi, I think everytime you update the game, you make regressions around physx : You make a odd / weak steering waiting system, you add blocks everywhere, you change the terrain, you change the friction ... But you must first correct the physx, otherwise you will never end losing time doing regressio...

Re: GRIP Update 1.0.8.2 is on Steam (Private branch)!

This is a pretty good update, I like new knockout mode, and there is a pretty cool effect when you`re last in that race. But I think that Drifting needs alot of work, It has more realistic slide on the handbrake, but when you let it go, car just sticks to the road. It feels weird, car should hold t...

Re: GRIP Update 1.0.8.2 is on Steam (Private branch)!

Vehicles can now accelerate in mid air due to the rear jet thrust. Be careful! Is that what's really going on? I've been doing some deliberate testing by use of turbo boosts and handbrake, flinging the car in the air so as to have the jet thrusters facing 90° sideways in midair, but the car doesn't...

Re: 1.0.8.2 Impressions

All good points there. Drifting still needs work, it was a bit premature putting it out now really but we felt it had been long enough since the last build and it's going to take quite some time to perfect. I'll be working on this again over the next week or two though along with other aspects of th...

Re: GRIP Update 1.0.8 is now live!

I didn't have much time to try everything, but i have one question: did the resolutions higher than 1920 x 1080 disappear, or is it a bug on my computer? Time to go back and try a bit of reversed tracks! As the others, i really love the Tank car, and the way the Transport race looks now. ;) Resolut...

Re: 1.06 Thoughts

Got my controller today. The differences are immediate and stunning to the point that I would say you should add a 'Recommended for Controllers' tag to the game on steam. So it's now obvious what the problems were for me before. My keyboard could not achieve full lock when steering. This explains t...

Re: Let`s talk about Assassin.

The Assassin will improve over time. KazzyMac was right in saying this is just an initial implementation. There's already a very considerable amount of intelligence governing the missile but it does need more. Most things in GRIP are works in progress, I'm the only coder at present and have a to-do ...

Re: Addressing current status of the game and complaints from other players

The issue with assassin's piling up isn't a problem with assassins, but rather with position spread. Racers all get far too spread out, which sounds like an issue that will be -very- challenging for you guys to fix, because every variable factors into how that plays out. The catch up mechanic is aw...

Re: Addressing current status of the game and complaints from other players

If the Assassin fly the opposit direction it easy to spot don't you think? I'm not even saying it shouldn't fly in reverse - I actually think we should do that at appropriate occasions. All I'm saying is that making all this stuff work well takes time, and I'm the only coder on the project right no...

Indeed. It should just fly backwards instead. :P

That too, also brings problems which first need resolutions.

Re: Addressing current status of the game and complaints from other players

I agree that the high power needs to come back, I feel like it may have been removed to hide the physics issues at that speed (the invisible objects), but I still think it needs to be there, my will to play is somewhat diminished at this safer speed, hell I'd play turbo power if I could (level 4 po...

Re: 1.06 Thoughts

yes, this may well be where the discoinnect is coming from as I never had any issues playing Rollcage with my keyboard. Same goes for grip up to 1.0.4. Could always do very well and game/cars felt perfect. 105 changed all that and there is still a hold over of it with 106 even though it is better. ...

Re: 1.06 Thoughts

I'm confused about this feedback, as we've not changed the steering characteristics since 1.0.3, and we even upped the grip post-crash in 1.0.6. To help us, is there any particular area of a track where you have to do a 3 point turn whereas previously you thought you had not? I think this is an acc...

Re: *IMPORTANT*[POLL] Which vehicle handling do you prefer, 1.0.4 or 1.0.5?

Next thing you know we'll need a rolling start to warm the tires up. :D Wouldn't a jet propelled car be a "no wheel drive", though? I imagine, instead of accelerating, the car is pushing at 100% the whole time, and you have to just brake enough to not loose control and... well, good luck ...

Re: 1.06 Thoughts

Cars feel better but it's hard to tell if that's just a 'no high engine setting' thing. Still feels like a lot of under-steer, especially at low speeds but the real issue now is that slow acceleration+unresponsive steering. Not only does it frustrate as you see cars blast by knowing you can't catch...
