+1 for asymmetric design.

Also, what about having boosters along the car body rather than just in the back? Like, they can be put on a wing-looking piece between the wheels.

I also agree with broscar. As i posted previously, if you make cars damaged, this would prevent you from reaching the powerups you need to fight as effectively as the other. This means that the first guy who looses a wheel looses the game aswell because he no longer can drive to get powerups. I've s...

But i remember every track, that damned tibet track with the ups and down, the foundry one... it was so polished for the time... with those cinematics that built up the expectations... Yes, i was exploring the idea of having something completely obstructing the way so that whoever arrives at that point is forced to slow down and the group can catch up, while also adding the ability to leverage the track that has already been cleared by others.

Oh, i like if it's going to be like a few car widths in four directions on the two axis parallel to the ground. If you have to line up like if you want to fire a driller, then that's cool!
