OBS
Although it is mainly for streaming, it has a recording feature
I use that one myself when i stream rollcage gameplay, but the preview for when grip is launched tells me that it gets the visual

Hope that helps you a bit

+1 for OBS. I also use it whenever I decide to record gameplay, although I can't tell you how it works with streaming since my upload speed is garbage and won't allow me to stream anything more than 8-bit quality.

With recording, though, it's never let me down

I use fraps because OBS kicks out variable framerate clips, which I don't like (can fix it with Handbrake, but I'm lazy).
If you don't have the storage space for fraps, consider it another vote for OBS from me.

Wait.. so u record ur preview from OBS with fraps?? cool gonna try that :)

EDIT
It seems to save it in .flv files wich I can't use in any video editor I have installed from the moment, and i also fail in finding a good converter :(

yeh.. Hence my edit.. anyway.. I think about uploading it like it is.. even with the fails, might be good for the devs for spotting some bugs

That's the replay buffer you're trying to work with.
Just use regular recording and it'll save as .mp4

Can't fault OBS as long as you let it work as outit was designed. Avoid paying with CPU speed presets, as they can cause very choppy video. Bitrate can go nice and high though (~16000 when recording to a HDD), and you can set a CBR on the buffer if necessary.

I dunno, OBS saves recorded footage as .flv for me.

Have you tried MSI Afterburner? After getting frustrated with OBS I used that. Feels like it works better, but the videos are HUGE (~1GB per minute on 1080p). Maybe I need to knock the quality down a bit so it's not recording at 120,000 kbps ¬_¬

If you have an Nvidia GPU, Shadowplay works like a charm.
