The assassin missile is too slow

The assassin missile (hunts down the race leader) is too slow to shoot without slowing down. If I don't slow down for a second the missile hits me or my surroundings 99% of the time.

Is this just me or are others getting this too?

Edit:
I've tried to learn how to dodge it while shooting it but this is only possible in open areas.

I'm not sure it has to do with missile velocity. Perhaps deployment speed on geometry instead.

Well, rockets are designed to be used in open areas and on straight lanes. They start their engines one second after deployment.

@ FrostyPL Yup I've come to the conclusion that it is cooler and more realistic to just deal (and learn to use it #l2p :D) with it than nerf it down.

I'm fine with it too. The 1 sec window could even be used for deployment denial (an enemy with a gattler behind you - incurring damage)

Okay I'm having second thoughts. It just ain't realistic.... :D A super high budget monster battle truck is shooting missiles and they just hit the car itself. How stupid (and random) is that?!! If someone would have this kind of problem in real life, he would sure as hell fix it before competing in races around the galaxy :DDD

So yea. I hope someone in dev-team sees this.

I like how it is now. It adds depth to them since using them requires some planning ahead. Missiles are not "shot" but more like dropped or thrown out of the vehicle, thus they inherent the same momentum. Some Weapons in GRIP also seem to be kind of outdated since they already exist in our time and getting outdated weaponry is probably easier to do than acquiring modern ones.

On the other hand, it could be interpreted that the fact that it requires some planning is the truth. Whether you like it or not, is opinion.

But in all seriousness, I think missiles would be too good if it were easier to fire, since it is so hard to dodge 'em.

I think the missiles still crash into things too much, it can be pretty frustrating as it happens even when you'd expect it no to. Either way, expect more work to be done on missile launch and navigation

The Assassin is much improved since 1.2.5 and rarely crashes into anything except the target. It's top speed has also been considerably increased when it's travelling fairly straight so it should catch up with the leader more swiftly from now on. But we're not done yet, we've another trick up our sleeve on the todo list which will put a few smiles on a few faces ...

in some circumnstances, you can launch any missle under the terrain, but its hard to explain how to replicate the bug, but yeah, a faster deploy speed might reduce the issue youre having.

Pro hint: activate the item when your vehicle is running an uphill.

Yeah, it's on the list. This problem is much more difficult than it appears let us assure you. We hope to have it sorted soon though.
