[LOGGED] Losing first position inexplicably

Postby potterman28wxcv » Tue Dec 01, 2015 7:26 pm

Summary of the bug :
During a race, I lost my first position even though no car went past me (they were far behind, no doubt).

When does this happen : (after launching the game, in the menu, while racing, ...)
While racing

On which track did it happen : (Industrial, Playground, ...)
Figure 8

On which speed did that happen (if related to physics) : (Low, Medium, High)
High

How often does this happen : (Always, very often, occasionally, could not make it happen again)
Could not make it happen again, but will be looking for it

How to replicate the steps (if reproducible) :
No damn idea

More details :
it might be related to the glitch consisting in abusing the race line (go back and forth to get a free lap)
AIs might have done it by accident, thus making me lose the first position.

Any screenshot, or link to a video showing the bug :

Xaotros pointed out on steam that it might be related to the glitch consisting in abusing the race line (go back and forth to get a free lap)
AIs might have done it by accident, thus making me lose the first position.

Could be correct in that assumption potty. All of the race placing issues will probably be addressed in one shot, the next time Rob looks into it

I can also confirm this, though I was playing on low speed setting.

Just a heads up that this is still not fixed for 1.04. Today I was racing on figure 8 and was way in front of everyone else. In fact, I overlapped them which might be the cause of the problem. Overlapping the first driver wasn't an issue though, as far as I can tell. However, when he caught up to me again I was suddenly switched to 8th place and the catchup got me speeding.
I assume this happens every time an overlapped driver catches up to you again.

I can add to this and confirm its not just first position that can get lost. I've been dropped from 2 to 3, and 3 to 4 for no apparent reason while chasing the car just up ahead.

AI raceline abuse sounds reasonable. (That double crossing cheating AI)

Oh, and this was on industry.

Yeah, so this just happened in 3 races in a row on industrial. I was in the last third of the track each time.
