AMD Phenom II 1100T + AMD Fury X

Postby MTR » Thu Mar 03, 2016 5:21 pm

Specs:
OS: Windows 10 x64
CPU: AMD Phenom II 1100T (stock freq)
RAM: 16 GB DDR3
Storage: 1 TB HDD
PSU: 870 W

1080P:
AA: FXAA
AO: on
Shadows: epic
Effects: epic
Textures: epic
Post Process: epic
Motion Blur: epic
(Basically all set to max/epic)

Avg: 59.475 - Min: 48 - Max: 62

1366 x 768
Same graphic settings as above:

Avg: 57.535 - Min: 40 - Max: 62

hah I guess hertz settings from the game act as the fps limiter ;)

For me it seems that the first lap is full of sudden pauses caused most likely by loading something (parts of the track perhaps?) this does not happen after restarting the race - everything runs smoothly.

Btw: measurements were taken on FRAPS ;)

Regards!
Michał

A Fury X, by all rights, should be slaughtering this game at 1080p, even up to 4K, much less 1366x768. Something's bottlenecking your GPU hard somewhere. I'm getting better numbers than you on substantially weaker hardware - my laptop, which has a 970m (somewhere between a desktop 960 and 970, both of which are dramatically weaker than the Fury X) averages almost 70FPS on the same settings.

Do you have VSync enabled? It is a separate option from the res/refresh options, and that would likely limit you to 60FPS. Is it possible your game is running of an integrated GPU/APU instead of using the Fury X? Something is seriously wrong with your numbers for how powerful your GPU is.
Desktop: i5-3570k @ 4.6GHz, RX 480 8GB, 32GB DDR3-1600, Win 10 Pro
Laptop: i7-4720HQ @ 2.6GHz, GTX970m 6GB, 16GB DDR3-1600, Win 10 Home

Hah thanks - that's what makes me wonder especially when looking at the titan figures, and my own which are ussually at 60 at 99% of the time.
The prob is that one serious thing that may bottleneck the title is the Vsync (I ussually have it on by default) 1100T doesn't have integrated GPU, so that shouldn't be the case, CPU shouldn't bottleneck anyways (It's not a performance deamon right now - it was close 6 yrs ago) as CPU usage is < 40% per core at any given time in the game, no IGP Present. Still wonder if PCIe 2.0 may have such a big impact on the title performance.
So time to set the Vsync off ;)

It seems just a little more legit atm but still a little on the low side:
1920 x 1080p /60 hz
Avg: 89 - Min: 54 - Max: 113 (in game only)
Thanks for shout @wantfastcars :) I'll dig deeper into this :)

If it's possible, try a newer CPU to see if there is some factor in there.
