GPGPU Physics calculations?

Postby Eyes Only » Tue Dec 01, 2015 3:08 am

Maybe for destructibles anyone? Right now it only seems to be cpu based causing major bottlenecks. Even my friends 6700k/gtx980ti behemoth loses 50fps in my favorite physics litmus test (crashing into the glass/pillars on the playground level)
My desktop: FX6300, zotac GTX970, 16GB RAM, Samsung 840 evo 500GB SSD, 500GB HDD, Windows 10 Pro.

True that. It's fair to say they need to optimize that, I'm pretty sure they have optimization down the line as a polishing item before final release...

UE4 uses the CPU implementation of PhysX and those two are knee-deep into each other.
It's not happening.

I also thought PhysX doesn't work on AMD GPUs, systems with those cards have to use the CPU not matter what.
