More Arena Suggestions

1. Turbo Boost is Useless in this mode, Get rid of it.

2. Kill feed / kills declared.

3. not only is it nice to have last man standing but a deathmach mode with respawing would be nice and the most kills wins.

4. When there are 3 or less cars the arena should get smaller or something else should force cars close together so they are easier to find.

Actually using turbo you can easilly get to the top ot the arena dome and there are more bonuses and it is also another playground for MP (ai does not seem to know about this). So i thing turbo is fine. Also for evading by jumps etc ;-) :-)

Nooo! I always used the turbo or double turbo to escape or evade rockets in Rollcage.

Great suggestions! Arena mode was added on quite late, right before the release, so it's not all that fleshed out

But yeah, the turbos are at the top of the ramps leading up to the dome because otherwise it takes a while to get up to the top

It actually reminds me the Royal mode from ShootMania: Storm. When a player activates the pole, a giant tornado appears and narrows increasingly until a very short area, where the remaining players battle each other for the win.

Should be hard to make a tornado in the Biodome though :P

Edit: another idea about the turbos, why not just decrease the drop rate of them? This way they're less annoying, but still there in case you need it :)

If I remember correctly, Rollcage Stage 2 had a death match mode that was based on points. Damaging a vehicle gave a certain amounts of points depending of the weapon used. For example, rocket could give +1000, minigun +200 per hit, mine +500. Whether the game ends depending on time limit or points limit could be a mutator.

I would also like to see an arena where is a death pit at the center of the area, but first I would hope the pushing physics of other cars to be improved a little.

Yeah the collision between cars needs work, as do collision events in the game overall. Rob is doing everything he can to improve this, as it's no easy task.

A death pit would be cool in a level that is quite small, but anything decent sized, people may get angry if they fall in too soon then have to wait until one player is standing.

That wouldn't be a problem though if there was a respawn system and the match was based on a points system as nakano suggested. To add upon that, players could have unlmited lives, but lose points when they die - or just have the match end when a certain amount of points (or kills) is reached.

So 1st deathmatch mode as "the last man standing" and 2nd deathmatch mode with points, death pits and respawns. I would like it that way.

Sorry I have said that a bit wonky, I meant open world deathmatch As not in a glass capsule but more on a deserted land or something.

When I think of rollcage like this, It reminds me of RC Combat robot wars. :D

Guys, I have this suggestion based on someone else's suggestion I can't recall where I read X)...

Gravity inverter

Image

  • Put a device in the middle (like in Biodome) to invert gravity!
  • Make it blue glowy (to catch the attention) and concentric rings go down to indicate current gravity
  • Make it targetable. Once a missile hits it...
  • ...change color of the glowy thing (say, blue to orange) and make the rings go up to indicate inverted grav!
  • $$$$$$$
For this reason (among many others), all arenas could use a roof ;)

That could be super cool Que, but depends how difficult it is to implement. Would be pretty hilarious to see cars and objects falling back n forth

THat said, the Biodome ceiling is pretty ugly visually - would need to make it look nicer to drive on
