Remove/Reduce Collision with Physx objects

Like in every racing game, collision with objects like barrels, woodplanks and stuff like this can make your car do funny things.
Like in every racing gane, its annoying and can F' up a whole race, leading to frustration.

I suggest that after a small object (barrels, small stones from destroyed pillars etc.) is hit for the first time, it looses its collision and cars simply drive through them.

They are already working on the collisions. It's a lot of work though. Could take some time.

I got rid of all the barrels in the Industrial level and made destructible chunks disappear after 2-3 seconds

WHAT?! bruuuh imo every physx object should stay on its place. It makes the game alot harder. If somebody have problem with that i can say only one thing "Git gut scrub". Even in first rollcage every chunk stays on its place! And it was nearly 15 years ago!

sorry but random flips becasue you 30ton car touched a barrel dont have nothing to do with "harder game" or "git gut", its just a random factor that you cannot calculate.

the barrels for example could break on impact slowing you down or possibly losing control, but after youve hit them the "broken state" barrels got no hitbox

(or better, make everything explode on impact)

Chain exploding barrels.. It could be fun. But I don't want to be in first place then

I don't like removing them entirely, but I don't like that a mere barrel can get under my tank and mess up my driving either.
Will they be re-introduced once a reliable method is found to have them be impacted by the car without affecting it's driving in any way (or maybe just a little)?

Well. Yes. But we are not talking about 1 barrel here. We are talking about a lot of "barrels". It is just annoying to gain speed and then run into an obstacle again. The way RC1 handled it was nice. You just got slowed down a bit by a rock or something or the shock wave of something exploding set you back a few meters, that was it. You could use those explosions as a way to accelerate more or get a speed boost too. Like the exploding zeppelins and other stuff.

Otherwise if we make things fall onto the street as seen in one of the trailers, you are gonna have a bad time. You are gonna wait there forever because your car just can't move anymore, while the one who fired the rocket just wins the race.

I'd say we crush rocks without them doing much to our car, like get it spinning or something. Just slow the cars a bit down. But make crushing rocks fun. So you want to crush them.

Exploding stuff should be used to accelerate or slow down other cars.

There is also the possibility about making certain destruction change the track, but that is far away from implementation, I think.

Right now the physics objects and the car don't like each other. When they become friends, they can play in the same room
