oh, introduction thread!

Hi chris & co & everyone!

zephiris here... also know as romanb in a certain efnet channel, whatever you prefer... ;)

just now discovered this thread, so yeah, here we go... :)

i used to be a rollcage fanatic with my brother, then life started to come along and then work and music and graphics and vj'ing then music again then work again... now, i'm trying to turn around my life a bit because IT used to be a passion, but working in IT is *insertbadwordshere*...

it was my wish to have something like rollcage back, i even tried to start something myself with a friend, but alas, things were not to be...

mechwarrior online came along and now world of warships... ah, well... wanting to get into electronics stuff, designing synthesizers and maybe even build my own at some point, but now grip comes along and BAM! i'm back hooked and addicted... :(

i dont know what i am good at, and when i am asked "what do you do?" and i do not know how to answer that, some dear friends jump in and say "he's a visionary"...

so, yeah... i hope my rare feedback is constructive and wish you all the best to getting this game going good. what i've seen so far is pretty good, but i am burned out with grip now, too much consecutive play...

i want to get things going and at a later point be able to actually help with this one...

i might have some music to use for free in the game at some point (living of music in switzerland is simply too difficult, so, job to pay the bills... :P ), bear with me as i reset my tracks in life though... first things first... ;)

have a lot of fun, enjoy, let the race go on!

lots of love and cheers!
zeph
Oh, yeah... Back in the Cage...

Greetings to all!

Ain't got much to say, just got the game a couples of days ago when I noticed the similarities with Rollcage (man was that game fun).

Seriously cool from the dev team to have this game running, never tried the Stage II game but was a huge fan of the first Rollcage on PS1

Cheers!

Welcome here :D Always glad to know there's a new folk to join the Grip community :)

If you're interested in a Rollcage playthrough on PC, it's possible without much trouble thanks to codemonkey :
http://codemonkey.me.uk/rollcage_redux.php (Rollcage Redux - Rollcage with a couple of audio, visual and stability tuning)
http://codemonkey.me.uk/rollcage_extreme.php (Rollcage Extreme - same, but for Rollcage Stage 2)

Also if you want to have some multiplayer over Rollcage, you can join the Rollcage steam group, we organize weekly games (every Saturday), as well as tournaments 2 to 3 times a year.

Hey everyone, just bought Grip on steam, really excited to give it a go and see how it develops. I was pointed here by StickmanAdmin on reddit, just wanted to give him a shout out. I loved Rollcage and Stage 2 back in the day, so much so that they are some of the only PS1 games I kept around all these years haha. Can't wait to see this game develop!

Heya, I'm DriftRacer14, or Drift for short.
My username remains virtually the same all across the internet, so perhaps you've heard of or seen me ;) And yes I'm aware that my username is juvenile and doesn't really make sense; let's say I'm set in my ways.
I picked up RC:S2 at Disc Replay a year or so ago, and loved it since the first time I started it up, although my PS2 doesn't like displaying which option I've got highlighted in the menu properly... I recently got most of the game unlocked (with some help from Ido "The Duke" Skira's strategy guide) and started looking into it a bit more. Lo and behold I find GRIP, and my jaw drops. I've yet to purchase it but I can't wait, and the fact that some of the original Rollcage team is working on GRIP makes me wanna squee like a fangirl XD
I've been playing racing games since I was four. I started with Hot Wheels Turbo Racing on the PSX and my collection just exploded from there to my current +70 titles. Sadly, I don't know many racing fanatics IRL, so the multiplayer on all these titles is underutilized. When I heard of the "Rollcage Spiritual Revival" that is GRIP, I immediately decided I needed to get behind the wheel of one of those monsters, and if I can help the game develop before I get a chance to actually purchase it with suggestions and such, then that'll be a dream come true for me.

I look forward to racing with all of you. Be warned that once I get the hang of things you'll be seeing my afterburners quite a bit, though ;3 (I'm not saying I'm unbeatable, just that I've been playing racing games for more of my life than I haven't :) )

~DriftRacer14
OK, tell it to me straight... in Rollcage Stage II... was Winter Wonderland II even possible to Gold Medal...?

Retreating is Running Away. Falling Back, however, is simply Advancing in a Different Direction.

Hello everyone. A nice not-so-little game you have here. :) I bought GRIP on Steam and the sensations it gives me are outstanding. I do hope the game ends up being a racing gem, as Rollcage games once were.
