Don't count out the chinsey RC cars that there's no shame in dishing out a beating to.

I have one of these. Snagged it at WalMart for about $10. Used the hell out of it until the forward button for the right wheels broke on the transmitter, but luckily I have a soldering iron and a new button I can drop in its place from an old pocket radio
I'll need a little super glue, too, but shoot it'll be nothing to fix the transmitter. Thing's pretty fast and decent on batteries, too... especially after I made a small modification that allows me to switch off the headlights to save a little extra juice
I have maybe 11 or 12 RC cars that I can take outside and about eight more that are too small for anything but hardwood, linoleum and the like, and a couple of them need a little work, but I'm no stranger to getting a few more years out of an RC car than I rightly should be able to
Owning an RC Car is a rite of passage while growing up. Being able to fix them is just a side hobby lol
Although I wouldn't mind owning a really beefy 4WD, maybe gas powered RC car... hell I'd even take an RC car that ran on two 9.6V Turbo batteries lol so far the best three RC cars I've owned ran on a single 9.6V Turbo battery, and I've only seen one giant humvee style car that was 4WD and ran on two... sadly it was trashed and in a family member's backyard

OK, tell it to me straight... in Rollcage Stage II for the PS1... was Winter Wonderland II even possible to Gold Medal...?
Retreating is Running Away. Falling Back, however, is simply Advancing in a Different Direction.
