Vintek Juggernaut busts up some barrels

A little video of the new car blowing up some newly implemented explode-able barrels. I'll be placing these in the levels for next patch.

Any specific areas you guys would like to see these barrels in the tracks? Keep in mind that their force can move vehicles, so they can be placed strategically.

Naturally, there won't be that many barrels in one place in any given level :P

As a person who doesn't even own the game, I know my comments carry little to no weight here, but I think it would be nice if the cars didn't look all the same. However, don't get me wrong, these cars are bad to the bone, It's just a tiny bit of diversity would be welcome after looking at all these youtube videos of people driving nearly the same vehicle over and over again. But I like the uniformity of the cars enough just to say to keep it up.

put those barrels on the same place as they are on Yuri :D (and everywhere in the Biodome, I want a total apocalypse in the arena!)

I don't quite understand what you mean, unless you're talking about the fact that they all have big tires that are higher than the body? Every car looks quite different from each other, more so than real life manufacturers, IMO. The new Vintek Juggernaut looks far different from the Terra Dominator, more so than any Lamborghini looks compared to a Ferrari

Maybe you'd get a better look ingame ;)

I think I can understand where he is coming from Chris. I don't necessarily think they all look the same, but it'd be a lot nicer if there were more major differences in design aesthetic between the manufacturers. For example, most have very sharp aggressive body edging, but it'd be nice if we had a few with more organic shapes, and perhaps some therebetween.

Cars have the variety needed imo. Hell, the Juggernaut will be the 1st asymetrical design (top different from bottom)!!

More on point, barrel location, I trust in CE, but a few ideas could be:
  • Alhatra: before the tunnel shortcut
  • Norvos: in the cave
  • Biodome: near pickups & ramps to ceiling
  • Yuri: where the old barrels previously were
Anything to put people off their path :)

I really like the juggernaut design, I think each car have their very own look. Btw, it would be nice to have classes filter in the car selection screen.

Yay, more Explosions !!!
Once multiplayer is more solid i hope you can move the destructions a bit higher on the priority list.

By the way if you hadnt said that you dont have the game yet nobody would have known and im pretty sure it doesnt matter to chris. (atleast as far as comments & discussions are concerned)



And to add to the car discussion:
Since all cars are supersonic (or almost) tanks that can flip the possible designs are limited and the four cars that we have so far look pretty differnt from each other.
But i would love if you stretch the designs as far as possible.

What we hadnt so far: a car were

- the gun barrels would be very visual (to the side so the are still centered from the z axis or were they are now but than with some open sections in the middle of the car [think cyclone] or two top two bottom)

- the right side would look different from the left (in design or just in color). Aside from some small details.

- the design doesnt follow the four wheels-at-the-same-positon rule.

- the body is shaped like an oyster

I just checked in the game and the warlander could use some more love. The cyclone seems to have much more small details and better textures.

I had a toy a long time ago that looked like a GRIP car. If it ever ended up bouncing up so that it was balanced on the back wheels, it would 'dance' because the flip sensor inside didn't know WTF was going on XD

My point is there should be at least one car where the wheels stick out in front of and behind the vehicle more. Basically, try and make it so this can't happen.

Yeah I can see your point, but I find the cars in no way similar apart from the edges being rather hard/sharp

-right being different from left and then top being different from bottom requires more resources, but we'll do our best ;)

-Would love to see designs with wheels together at the back or one big wheel, but that would come much later if anything. Would require some rewriting of the base vehicle code

-ha, can't say I'm a fan of an oyster car :P

I hope, some time later, you introduce flame effects on the tracks too, so those exploding barrels would have some use already by producing some nice flame curtains, blocking the vision for the ones in front of it. Aside from being awesome as visuals ofc.
